At the northern end of the site, on the eastern side of the old pump house, a new drain has been laid and a channel dug to the river. It is assumed that this is for surface water. 13.03.2010 1328
WoodpaxHeritage Lottery FundHLFSheffield ParkCarriage ShedBluebell Railway
Looking south from a different angle, the outlet from the surface water drain can be seen to the left of the base of the tree. Note how deeply the contractor has buried the drain. It would be interesting to know if any of the pipework extending from the old pump house is still in situ as it must be at about the same depth. 13.03.2010 1331

A drain pictured over the last two weeks as it took shape at the southern end of the site is now almost complete, with the brick surround finished. The depth of the inspection chamber is illustrated by the previous picture. 13.03.2010 1360
