The reverse of the sign (seen only by the site staff). I don't think the erection of this sign had any connection with the arrival of our refined PWay team.... 24.01.2010 0021

This building, in a rather sad state of repair, stands near the bat roost at the northern end of the site. Information suggests that it was connected with water extraction from the river, and was a pump house. 27.09.2009.

Venturing inside the pump house did not appear to be a good idea. At best it might be described as disorganised! 10.10.2009.
WoodpaxHeritage Lottery FundHLFSheffield ParkCarriage ShedBluebell Railway
Having explored further, it was established that the River Ouse water extraction facilities were still in place. The licence to extract water has lapsed, but with a spanner and some WD40 all the problems with supplying water to the locomotives could be solved....!! Just kidding! :-)) 10.10.2009.

Looking west from the River Ouse bridge the shape of the square brick culvert that led to the pump house can be seen, covered in undergrowth. 15.11.2009.

It is slightly obscured by the tree, but this shot shows the entrance to the culvert used to draw water from the River Ouse. A barrier behind the grating was raised to admit water.... and, no, I didn't try it! 15.11.2009.

Looking north along the River Ouse from the northern end of the railway bridge. This area will be untouched by the project and remain a natural habitat. The river is not always muddy. It was in flood following heavy rain. 15.11.2009
