This view south shows the track layout under the southern footbridge more clearly. The main Groombridge sidings are on the right, with an additional siding on the left formed out of the Up line from Birchden. The operational line to Birchden (and eventually Eridge) is on the far left. This area is OUT OF BOUNDS. Picture taken (with permission) on 19.09.2005
The Spa Valley line south to Birchden. The left hand line is operational and the original up line is now a siding. An old signal post can be seen on the left. A northbound Home signal is to be sited near this point although I do not know whether the reverse side of the original post will be used. 28.01.2008
Looking south towards Birchden with a longer lens the white fence in the far distance marks the current boundary with Network Rail and the end of the present operational line. Material appears to be stored on the former up line. The lens makes the distance appear much shorter. It is actually about three quarters of a mile. 28.01.2008
